award, which recognizes Ellis' commitment to our
community, especially the underserved, through such
programs as the Medical Home. |

Sight Society of Northeastern New York, Inc. (The Lions
Eye Banks at Albany) has selected Ellis
Hospital as its 2010 Hospital of the Year
recipient. Ellis is recognized for its commitment and
compassion in the care of grieving families along with
their outstanding accomplishments and best practices
used to facilitate cornea donation. |

Award for Quality and Patient Safety for Ellis

Limeri, primary care physician at Ellis
Medicine's Glenville HealthCare Center. |

Apple" award, 2010 recipient is Dr. James
Desemone, endocrinologist, director of Medical
Staff Quality at Ellis Medicine and clinical associate
professor of medicine at Albany Medical College. |

County EMS "Physician of Excellence" award,
2010 recipient is Dr. Kevin Jones of
Ellis' Emergency Services Department. |
 Schenectady
County EMS "Nurse of Excellence" award, 2010
recipient is David DeRossi, RN, of
Ellis Emergency Department. |

 The
Salvation Army recognized Ellis Medicine with
its 2009 "Spirit Award" for Ellis'
collaborative efforts, leadership, and vision while
demonstrating a passion for improving lives in service
to the community, especially through Ellis' innovative
Medical Home. |
The Southern
Saratoga Chamber of Commerce presented its
2009 "Endurance Award" to Ellis for its
dedication to excellence even in the face of
unprecedented changes to the local health care system. |
 The
New York State Academy of Family Physicians' 2010 Family
Doctor of the Year award winner is Dr.
Christopher Murphy, Ellis Medicine Family
Health Center. |
 The
Center for Donation & Transplant's 2010 Health Care
Practitioner of the Year
award went to Bill Owens, a
Neuroscience Physician Assistant at Ellis. |
 The
YWCA honored Ellis Medicine's Vice President of
Operations Patti Hammond as one of its
2010 Women of Achievement. |
 The
Business Review's Class of 2010 40
Under Forty includes Ellis Medicine's
Assistant Vice President for Strategic Planning
Kellie Valenti. |

York American College of Emergency Physicians'
"Advancing Emergency Care" award 2010 recipient is
Dr. Roger Barrowman, Ellis' Chairman of
the Department of Emergency Services.

honored Dr. Roger Barrowman as its 2009
