Volunteers at Ellis Medicine
As
a not-for-profit organization, Ellis Medicine depends upon the
support of its community in order to succeed. One of Ellis
Medicine's most treasured resources for support is the Volunteer
Aides. For more than 70 years, dedicated volunteers have been
lending a helping hand to staff and patients, alike.
The organization has come a long way from the by-gone days
when so-called "pink ladies" were its only members. Today, the
Volunteer Aides is a modern, sophisticated and diverse
organization, where seniors and teens, men and women work
side-by-side to contribute to the success and growth of Ellis
Medicine.
"There are a number of ways in which you can get involved as
a volunteer, both at the hospital or by working from your home,"
explained Joyce McCormack, director of Volunteer & Customer
Services at Ellis Medicine. "We offer a relaxed atmosphere where
you can have fun while making a difference."
