Honor or Memorialize that Special Someone
A tribute gift is a meaningful way to convey sympathy to the

or honor someone. It is also an opportune way to express gratitude
to a physician, nurse, or hospital staff member who has made a
special impact. At The Foundation for Ellis Medicine, we offer
several options to make your tribute gift matter.
Honor Gifts are a unique and wonderful way to celebrate life's
special moments - the birth of a child, a birthday or anniversary, a
thank-you for exceptional care by a physician or other caregiver.
Making a contribution to the Foundation on behalf of someone is a
gift that honors the recipient while offering hope and support to
the hospital as it fulfills its mission.
Memorial gifts are a distinctive way to remember a loved one or
friend. A charitable contribution in the name of a lost loved one
can have special meaning to both the family and the donor, and you
can designate your gift to a certain department or service.
Regardless if you choose to restrict your gift or not, your gift
will make an immediate difference in the lifesaving work done at
Ellis Medicine.
In acknowledgement of your gift, a note is sent to the individual
being honored - or the family of those memorialized - informing them
of the gift and the identity of the donor. The amount of the gift is
kept confidential. You will receive an acknowledgement for your gift
for tax purposes, and your gift will be recognized in The Foundation
for Ellis Medicines Annual Report of Gifts.
Directing Memorial Gifts to The Foundation for Ellis Medicine
Each year families ask how to list Ellis Medicine as a designated
charity in their loved ones obituary. It is for this reason that we
offer the following suggested language:
- In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you make a
donation in memory of (Name of Loved One) to (name of
department, program, or fund) at The Foundation for Ellis
Medicine, 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
- Those who may desire to contribute in his/her name can make
a donation to the Ellis Hospital Foundation, 1101 Nott Street,
Schenectady, NY 12308.
