Sitterly Road Bridge in Clifton Park closed for construction through Sept. 12

Bridge connects to Ellis’ Medical Center of Clifton Park; patients urged to plan ahead, follow marked detours, call 9-11 in emergency

Previous reports on the Sitterly Road Bridge over I-87/The Northway, just south of Exit 9: Full closure of the bridge, and the implementation of a full detour, is scheduled to begin at midnight Saturday, June 18. The detour and bridge closure is scheduled to last through Monday, Sept. 12.

  • The Sitterly Road Bridge is one access point to Ellis Medicine’s Medical Center of Clifton Park (MCCP), which houses an emergent care along with a host of other services. The emergent care is open 7 days a week.
  • Access to MCCP via Clifton Park Center Road will remain open during the summer construction period. Patients should follow marked detours and plan for delays during peak times.
  • Previously, temporary construction closed the bridge for three weeks. There were no reports of emergency access problems to MCCP when the bridge was last closed.
  • Anyone who feels they are experiencing an emergency should dial 9-11.
